What courses do you offer?

We offer Standard First Aid & CPR, Emergency First Aid, CPR-only courses, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pet First Aid. We also offer the babysitting and stay safe courses for youth!

What course do I want to take?

If you are looking to take a first aid course for work:

Under WSIB Regulation 1101, if you have 1-5 workers per shift, someone on each shift needs to have Emergency First Aid.

If you have 6+ workers per shift, someone on each shift needs to have Standard First Aid.

If you are looking to take a first aid course for school:

Almost all school programs require Standard First Aid and CPR Level C

(for example: Early Childhood Education, recreation and leisure)

if in a healthcare field, MAY also require BLS

(for example: nursing, firefighting, PSW, paramedic, dentistry, optometry)

Please refer to our Course Information Section for more information!

How long are the courses?

Standard First Aid & CPR is typically 2 days. We offer this through blended learning where 1 day is completed online, and 1 day in class. Emergency First Aid is 1 day, or 4 hours online and 4 hours in-class (blended). CPR and BLS courses range from 4–8 hours depending on the level.

Do you run courses every week?

Yes, we run weekly public courses in Guelph. Private and on-site group training is also available. Weekday and weekend bookings are available.

Do I need prior knowledge or experience?

No prior experience is needed—our courses are designed for beginners as well as those renewing certification.

Does the training include AED training?

Absolutely! All of our courses include training on the AED (defibrillator)

I need SFA-BLS- are these offered together?

No. These are two separate courses. But we offer combo course discounts! Contact us for your coupon code!

Where is the course located?

We are located at:

211-255 Woodlawn Rd W

Guelph ON

This is the same plaza as the Guelph Drive Test Center and Woodlawn Bowling Alley. The door is in the center of the plaza right beside the Drive Test.

What should I bring to the course?

Comfortable clothing, your online completion certificate (if required), and a willingness to participate in hands-on practice. Course materials are provided.

Blended Learning

Is the training online or in-person?

Regular Certification:

We do our training through blended learning. This means you do 2-8 hours of online, self-paced work and then attend a 2-8 hour in-class session to complete your certification. It's easy as 1-2-3:

1. Online, self paced portion (2-8 hours depending on course type)

2. In-class, instructor led session (2-8 hours depending on course type)

3. Certification!

Recertification:

Our recertification courses remain all in-class. No online portion required- just come to class for 7 hours and get re-certified!

Can I complete the training completely online?

No. In Ontario, online first aid and CPR courses are not WSIB approved and therefore not compliant with legal standards. Our blended program is WSIB approved.

When do I get access to the online training?

You will receive an email with a link from the Canadian Red Cross within 1 business day of your registration.
